Description
The Wave Biotech STF-IRC Sterile Tube Fuser uses a high-temperature "blade" or heating element to cut and fuse two pieces of tubing together. This process ensures that the internal fluid path remains sterile, even if the exterior of the tubing is exposed to ambient air. It is primarily used for connecting bags, filters, and bioreactors in single-use processing. Included: 7/16" Right and Left Tube Holder Blocks Power Cord Key Features Aseptic Connection: Creates a permanent, sterile weld between two tubes without the need for a laminar flow hood. Automated Operation: Features a motorized clamping and cutting mechanism to ensure consistent weld quality and reduce operator error. Thermoplastic Compatibility: Designed for use with common biopharma tubing materials such as C-Flex, PharMed, and AdvantaFlex. Validation Support: Often used in validated processes where a closed system is required to maintain product purity. Compact Benchtop Design: Small footprint suitable for crowded laboratory or cleanroom benches. Technical Specifications Tube Sizes: Typically supports 1/4" ID to 3/4" OD tubing (model-specific inserts may be required). Weld Cycle Time: Generally under 2 minutes per connection. Heating Element: Uses single-use or multi-use sterile blades (depending on the specific sub-version and configuration). Power Requirements: Standard 110/220V AC. Control Interface: Basic LCD display for cycle status and error monitoring Dimensions: Approximately 14 x 10 x 8 inches (35.6 x 25.4 x 20.3 cm). Weight: Approximately 15 to 18 lbs (6.8 to 8.2 kg).
